Vyapeksha is a Kolkata-based initiative dedicated to enhancing the socio-economic status of women in the informal sector. Established in 2021, we are committed to fostering empowerment through education, financial independence, and advocacy for workplace rights. We aim to create a society where every woman has equal opportunities, protection, and a voice.
Globally, a significant percentage of women earn their livelihoods in the informal sector—engaging in work that is often unregulated, undervalued, and vulnerable to exploitation. These women face high rates of poverty, limited access to resources, and minimal protection for their human and labor rights. Vyapeksha was founded to address these issues, inspired by the visible struggles of underprivileged women during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to connect women workers with resources, networks, and actionable solutions. We collaborate with grassroots organizations, researchers, and policymakers to tackle systemic challenges and provide sustainable support to women workers.

She completed her PhD from NIT Rourkela in 2019, focusing on India’s informal sector, and combines academic expertise with a deep commitment to community empowerment.
